Abergynolwyn is home to the Tal-y-Llyn Railway, where steam trains run on a regular basis on the 8 mile scenic valley route to Tywyn, which has a long sandy beach. Just three miles north east of the village is the much photographed Tal-y-Llyn lake, surrounded by stunning mountains. The village also has a photo point for keen observers of high-speed jets on the Mach Loop. The village also has a cafe, children's play area and a pub, just 150 metres from the bungalow.

Hafod Wen is well equipped for a young family, with travel cot, highchair, stairgate (for a doorway, if required - there are no stairs!), changing mat, bathroom step, plastic plates and cups, children's cutlery, selection of toys, books and games etc.

Abergynolwyn is in an excellent, central location within south Snowdonia, ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, or touring the spectacular scenic mountain routes or coastline. The Dol Idris Car Park, at the foot of Cadair Idris, is 5 miles away, for those who wish to climb the highest peak in south Snowdonia. Coed-y-Brenin, for forest walks and mountain biking, is about 15 miles away, and there is the Mawddach Trail nearby for less strenuous walking and cycling. Tywyn, with its long, sandy beach, is 8 miles away, with picturesque Aberdyfi, just 2 miles further down the coast, for watersports facilities and an historic golf course. The market town of Dolgellau is 12 miles away, and the historic town of Machynlleth 14 miles to the south.

A lovely little bungalow set in a little village with some stunning scenery and some challenging but satisfying walks up to the old slate quarry. Very nice pub at the end of the road. And your very own narrow gauge steam railway to take you to the coast. What's not to like? Would certainly consider coming back again in the future.

Mr Jim B,

Lovely bungalow, marvelous neighbours. Couldn't want more.

Mr Terry G,

Fantastic and cozy little bungalow. Beautiful scenery and lovely quiet village with lots of great walks. Good pub.

Mr M K,
