Description

Gellfechan is a good value, simple, traditional stone terraced cottage in the village of Trawsfynydd in the Snowdonia National Park. The village has a local shop and pub and the nearby Trawsfynydd lake is popular for fishing, cycling and walking. There is also a lakeside café. This is a short drive from the Coed- y- Brenin forest for fabulous mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, children’s nature walks and play area. 10 miles to Dolgellau and Blaenau Ffestiniog and 12 miles to Porthmadog.

'There's a good cafe at the Coed-y-Brenin visitor centre which is open all year round. There's always something that can be done here whatever the weather as the forest is nice and sheltered!' From Jacky, our local property manager

The Cottage: benefits from a cosy wood burner and further heating by storage heaters and electric panel heaters

Living Room: has a beamed ceiling and a stove with coal supplied. Comfortable seating, Freeview TV and DVD. Small table and chairs.

Kitchen: is a compact galley kitchen with an electric cooker and fridge with freezer compartment. A rear door leads up a flight of steps to the enclosed paved patio area.

Fairly Steep stairs lead to the first-floor bedroom and shower room

Bedroom 1: has a double bed and plenty of storage space

Shower Room: is fully tiled with shower cubicle, basin and WC

Outside: is a paved patio with bistro style garden furniture Parking is on the road outside the property.

This is an exellent spot from which to explore Snowdonia with, for the more active, plenty of local walking, mountain biking at the Coed-y-Brenin forest and Antur Stiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you will also find the very popular Zip World Titan and Bounce Below underground trampolines! For a more restful experience both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways are within a short drive, as is the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion. The nearest beach at Borth y Gest and the castles at Criccieth and Harlech are all within half an hour's drive.

Mr Philip G,

Great location to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.

Kerry N,

Thanks for a great few days. Despite the weather, we managed to have a great time visiting the spectacular scenery around North Wales. Thanks for the fuel, milk and cookies - a great touch that we appreciated.
