Description

Ty Dulas is a former Corris railway building, which sits beside the River Dulas within Snowdonia National Park. It is set amongst trees down from the road at Pantperthog, overlooking both the river and surrounding fields. Ty Dulas is just 2.5 miles north of Machynlleth, which boasts Owain Glyndwr's parliament, a sports centre, golf course, Museum of Modern Art, a Wednesday summer market and comprehensively stocked supermarket, which incorporates a bakery.

Ty Dulas has two bedrooms, one being a double with en suite toilet and wash basin, the other being a double with additional single bed; both bedrooms having fan assisted convector heaters. The newly refurbished contemporary shower room has a shower cubicle, WC, bidet and basin. The fitted kitchen includes an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The spacious, 10 metre long sitting/dining room has a high-beamed ceiling, open fire, night storage heaters and access to a balcony deck overlooking the river. There is also a large conservatory at the south of the property, with access to patio areas and gardens overlooking the river and surrounding fields. To the north of the cottage, there is a coppice, which affords plenty of space for children to play. Both the lounge and the conservatory have Sky satellite TV decoders, so if you have a Sky account, please bring your card with you in order to receive the programmes which you're used to at home. There is also a DVD player,  free fibre optic ultrafast broadband, an antique all-in-one stereo CD/radio/record player, games and books. There is a payphone in the hall. Mobile reception is weak to non-existent.

Ty Dulas is approximately 15 minutes' walk to the Centre for Alternative Technology. This lovely, secluded countryside location provides excellent birdwatching, walking, and stargazing under dark skies.  There are sandy beaches and watersports at Aberdyfi and Borth, about 20 minutes' drive away. The Corris and Talyllyn narrow gauge railways are close by, as well as King Arthur's Labyrinth, which is close to the Corris Craft Centre. The Welsh Highland Railway narrow gauge railway is situated at Porthmadog, as is the Ffestiniog Railway, which runs between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Please note: no children under 8 years because of the adjacent river.

Bed linen provided, night time storage heating and solar panels.

Night storage heating and solar generated electricity included.

Please do not smoke inside at Ty Dulas. Vaping is acceptable.

Reviews

Our first visit to Ty Dulas, we found the cottage to be just what we wanted. The cottage is well laid out, spacious, light and airy in a great location, the scenery is wonderful and it was nice having the river on the door step, with plenty of space to sit out and enjoy it.

Mr Stephen R,

Will return.
