At a glance

  • Beautifully appointed cottage, perfect for exploring the many gems Pembrokeshire has to offer
  • Flexible bed make-up and plenty of space, both indoors and out, for multi-generation holidays with family or friends
  • Ground-floor bedroom and wet room, with level access to the front and ramped access to rear patio

Property code: OC-WAV608

Close to the Carmarthenshire coast, a three-bedroom, three-bathroom layout – with enhanced accessibility to one of each – and a village location make this attractive cottage a great choice for a getaway with extended family or friends.

This charming holiday home sits beside the lych gate of St Clears’ parish church. All the comforts of home are here, plus plenty of social space within the large open-plan kitchen/diner and living room. Level access at the front and a ramp to the rear patio add to the accessibility of the ground floor where, for the less able, there’s a bedroom with zip-and-link beds that can be made up as twins or a super-king-size bed, and a wet room with grab rails. On the first floor, two further bedrooms – one with a king-size bed and the other with three singles – each has en-suite facilities; for ultimate convenience, the former has a shower and the latter a bath with a shower over. Enjoy views over the churchyard to the fields beyond as you unwind in the gorgeous rear garden which has a lawn, borders planted with shrubs and flowers, and a decked area with outdoor furniture.

On the south-western edge of Carmarthenshire, St Clears is a small town that’s rich in history – discover its past by following the 1.5-mile Heritage Trail to see 12 of its most important sites. Shop for all the essentials in the town and you’ll find a warm welcome; your holiday home is on the outskirts, but there’s a friendly pub within 50 metres! Venture further afield and 3.5 miles south you’ll reach Laugharne where Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse overlooks the Taf Estuary. Alternatively, the 7-mile-long Pendine Sands are just 8 miles away while county town Carmarthen sits on the banks of the River Tywi, 9 miles east. Reputed to be Wales’ oldest town, it’s home to some super shops, pubs, galleries and eateries, plus the remains of what was once the most westerly amphitheatre in the Roman Empire.

The cottage was great, the small touches really added to it and the owner was a helpful and friendly host. The area had much to do even when the weather was not great

A lovely cottage, very comfortable, well equipped, and spacious. A lovely garden to sit out in, weather permitting! Good information pack, and quick response from the owner if contacted.
