Property code: OC-WAV235

Tucked away in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this former school masters house, standing back-to-back with the village hall, is as rustic and quaint as they come, steeped in history and surrounded by the rural hamlet of Walwyn’s Castle, offering endless picturesque walking trails and countryside scenery to discover.

After exploring your idyllic surroundings, no better remedy for weary walking muscles is the warmth of the electric fire in the charming lounge, complete with comfy sofas to unwind on and admire the stunning original exposed brickwork and ceiling beams. Follow the characterful ceiling beams into the adjoining kitchen/diner to get creative with the local produce you’ve collected and make special family memories seated around the farmhouse-style wooden dining table. Take a long soak in the bath in the family bathroom downstairs before retiring upstairs to either of the two cosy bedrooms tucked beneath the eaves of the cottage, which both feature a characterful sloping ceiling and more exposed timber beams. Soak up the fresh, clean countryside breeze by dining alfresco on a fine summer’s evening in the courtyard area before relaxing on the lawned grounds.

An ideal location for touring the picturesque Pembrokeshire coastline and countryside, you’ll get to know your surrounding scenery very well by joining up with the idyllic Pembrokeshire Coast Path or by taking a boat trip to Skomer Island to see the puffins from the Lockley Lodge Visitor Centre (9 miles). Just 2 miles away you’ll reach the pretty seaside village of Little Haven to enjoy some delightful coastal views; neighbouring Broad Haven (3 miles) offers a wonderful sandy stretch for the perfect day at the seaside. Enjoy an adrenaline-fueled day at Oakwood Theme Park 16 miles away or head to Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (20 miles) for a relaxing family day out.

The School House was in an idyllic setting , next to a church and cemetery which meant the neighbours were very quiet lol! The enclosed garden was just enough for our 2 girls (5+7) to ride round and round and make dens and play, and there was a nature reserve about 100m from the house. The garden kept the sun until the last and we stayed out until Read moreabout 9pm each night trapping the last of the sun in the yard. We generally went out for the days and explored different beaches /castles/parks/walks - there was plenty to do within half hour drive. The School House itself does not have any immediate amenities nearby, but we wanted the super private tranquil retreat after long days out and thats just what we got. Good Job ! Hide

We stayed at the property last September so we're already familiar with it- it is in an excellent location- very quiet and peaceful but within easy travelling distance for most places of interest. A very comfortable and restful property which we will visit again ??

Very good communications ahead of the booking and for us a quiet place which suits our needs for a rural and coastal getaway. We also prefer to support a community run facility over a second home like location
