Wye Retreat is the end cottage in this group converted from a former barn, with the benefit of its own patio table and chairs set on a private terrace, with a small stream trickling downhill just beyond the garden fence. The cottage faces away from others in the group, so is quite private and with lovely views over the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. The village of Llangurig, a mile away, has a local shop and two pubs. The market town of Rhayader, 7 miles to the south, has a full range of facilities.
Living Room: open plan, with leather sofa and armchair, FreeSat TV and DVD player, WiFi, electric flame-effect stove; dining table and four chairs; kitchen area with fitted units, electric oven, gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and washing machine.
Shower Room: with shower in enclosure, WC, basin, heated towel rail, shaver light.
Bedroom: open to the staircase, this spacious bedroom has attractive exposed beams and sloping ceilings to the sides of the room; curtained four-posted double bed, bedside tables and lights, curtained clothes hanging alcove, chest of drawers with mirror over, and a single bed with shelf and light.
Outside: enclosed patio area with garden furniture; access to shared grounds, fields and hillside.
Shared Facilities: a locked utility room with chest freezer and a rack for two bikes is available by arrangement, if required (shared with other cottages).
Parking: stepped access up to the patio and cottage entrance from a shared parking area below.
Rhayader is home to a Red Kite Feeding Station. The Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway runs from Devil's Bridge to Aberystwyth, 27 miles away, where there is a sandy beach, pier and promenade. Excellent local walking and just a short drive away the wonderful waterfalls and walks at Devil's Bridge, or the impressive scenery of the Elan Valley, with its reservoirs, forested hillsides and nature reserves. The upper Wye Valley is a picturesque area, popular with walkers, mountain bikers, cyclists and nature lovers. This is a good, central location for touring the beautiful Mid Wales countryside as well as the West Wales coastline around Aberystwyth.

Bed linen provided; towels @ £3 pp; travel cot, highchair and stairgate available
