Holiday Cottages in Beaumaris
Beaumaris is in a stunning location, right on the south coast of Anglesey, beside the ribbon of water separating Anglesey from the mainland, with impressive views across the sea to the mountains of Snowdonia. This historic town is famous for the medieval castle (now a world heritage site), Victorian gaol, courthouse and pier. It is also a major yachting destination. The bustling streets of Beaumaris are full of interest with many independent shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and artists’ studios. This is a great destination for ‘foodies’ with many excellent places to eat out or buy local produce. Not to be missed is the popular Red Boat ice cream parlour, or stroll to the Central Bakery for your morning bread!
Boat trips can be taken from the town, there are fishing opportunities and a nearby golf course. Red Wharf Bay (Traeth Coch in Welsh) is a large sandy beach with safe bathing and watersports. Fantastic walking can also be had here on the Anglesey coastal path and a short drive takes you to Penmon Point with its ancient priory, dovecote and views across to Puffin Island bird sanctuary. You are also well placed for exploring Snowdonia National Park.
