This very pretty cottage has a lovely combination of historic features and modern amenities, and offers a home-from-home welcome to families and groups of friends. Set in the small village of Murton, it’s perfect for exploring beautiful countryside and Gower’s superlative golden beaches.

Let vibrant colours, patterned wallpaper and gorgeous textiles surround you with a sense of fun and comfort. Exposed beams and ornamental fireplaces add to the sense of character, too. On the ground floor of this unique cottage you’ll find a light, bright kitchen/diner which is a great place in which to gather for a celebratory meal, games or an evening of conversation. There’s also a double-aspect lounge which is a warmly welcoming space for snuggling up and enjoying the Smart TV. On the first floor, all three bedrooms continue the well-designed, colourful theme, and share a family shower room. For al fresco drinks and dining, step through the doors in the lounge and up into the pretty courtyard garden, where a picnic bench allows you to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

Murton offers an excellent village shop and a welcoming pub, and is just a 1.5 mile drive from the family-friendly beach of Caswell Bay (or you can walk it in 1 mile via farmland and woods). Many more gorgeous beaches are within easy reach, including Pwll Du, 2 miles, and Oxwich Bay, 7.5 miles, while if you feel like striking out inland you’re just on the edge of the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are plenty of lovely walks and bike rides to enjoy. For some retail therapy and to explore a variety of places to eat and drink, characterful Mumbles is just 2 miles while the city of Swansea is 5.5 miles.

We have just returned home after a very enjoyable stay at Rose Cottage in Murton. The cottage is delightful, very clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and cosy. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook a meal with. The bedrooms are roomy and the bed linen top quality. There is a very pretty garden where we were able to sit outRead more and eat on a few occasions. Our family enjoyed swimming and walking. Beaches such as Brandy Cove, Caswell, Langland and Pwll Du are all within walking distance. Further afield are the gorgeous beaches of Three Cliffs, Pobbles, Tor Oxwich etc. We found the local corner shop very useful and the Farm shop is fantastic! Swansea is not far away if you need to do a bigger shop. The nearby Plough pub serves very good food. This is a lovely place to stay with a very friendly, helpful host Thank you Jacky. Perfect, perfect, perfect! I would rate Jacquelines place over five stars if I could. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, spacious and so comfortable! The kitchen is perfectly equipped to cook complete meals. Between the farm shop and the village shop next door we lacked for nothing during our three day stay and only wish it had been longeRead morer so we could have made the most of the wonderful places to explore nearby Jacqueline is a friendly, thoughtful, and thoroughly excellent host. Lovely cottage in the centre of the village with a corner shop, pub, supermarket, beach close at hand. Playground across the road and close to both Swansea and the best parts of the gower. Attentive hosts and spotless rooms.

Me and my friends spent 3 nights in Rose Cottage. It was beautiful and homely, and was well stocked with everything we needed. Each room was beautifully decorated with unique character, and it's clear the host has an eye for detail. This felt like staying in a loved home rather than a purpose-made holiday let! The beds and bedding were of a really Read morehigh quality, and I had excellent restful sleep while I was there. The kitchen had all amenities we could need, and was very high-quality and modern. The garden out the back was full of flowers, and provided a gorgeous setting for a peaceful and private morning coffee. Only a 20 minute walk to the beach, or a short car ride into Mumbles, it's perfectly situated to feel like a countryside retreat without being inaccessible. This is a really comfy home - spacious, and has everything you would ever need! Its a "home from home" experience. The lovely treats were very welcomed the tasty loaf of bread and the Welsh cakes were a lovely surprise. The back garden is really nice to sit out on a summers evening. The place was lovely and clean. Bathroom is really big and new, gRead morereat rain shower. Beds were very comfy and the decor was so beautiful and perfect! Child friendly with a selection of jigsaws/games in the lounge. We had a great time and would love to return one day! The location was excellent only a 10 minute drive to all the lovely beaches and Mumbles. There is also Caswell beach which is a lovely coastal walk next door to the house and also a convenient shop next door too! Jacky was a fantastic host and a lovely lady!
