Set deep in the Herefordshire countryside, the rural village of Peterstow is an ideal base to explore the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. A haven for walkers and cyclists, you can enjoy riverside walks along the Wye (1.5 miles) or climb the trail to Symonds Yat Rock (6 miles) where you can take in the outstanding view of the valley. The Forest of Dean is steeped in history with ancient oak woodlands, pine forests, and wildlife, and caters well for both walking and cycling. Step back in time at Clearwell Caves or Hopewell Colliery (both 12 miles). You’ll be spoilt for choice with market towns, as both Monmouth (9.5 miles) and Ross-on-Wye (3 miles) are within easy reach. Ross-on-Wye is hailed as the birthplace of modern tourism with its 17th-century market house, and Monmouth is the birthplace of Henry V.

Surrounded by rolling countryside and set within the grounds of the owner’s home, this traditional stone barn is simply perfect for couples and small families wanting to explore the Wye Valley. The barn is both beautifully presented and spacious, offering access via the open garage which is a great place for muddy boots after a day of exploring. Step inside to the kitchen/diner, a spacious room with a contemporary and well-equipped kitchen, with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast before a busy day. From the kitchen you have access to the lounge, the very heart of the barn conversion, with large picture windows and exposed beams. There are comfortable sofas and armchairs, a large wall-mounted TV, and a great selection of books and board games. For more formal dining there is a table and chairs suitable for five enjoying views of the gardens. The open staircase with a mezzanine landing showcases the frame of the barn, here you can enjoy a coffee and the morning paper relaxing in one of the two armchairs. The hallway leads the way to the bedrooms where guests have the choice of a double room with Velux windows and ample storage, and a twin room. This property offers a newly refurbished ground floor bathroom with walk in shower.

Outside, guests can relax in style on the patio area with comfortable seating that’s suitable for summer dining.
