Unwind and recharge in this tranquil getaway, which has a spectacular mountain backdrop and fabulous views from every window. Thoughtfully decorated throughout and with a lawned garden for al fresco dining, this is an ideal base for couples, friends or families wanting a quiet retreat or adventures outdoors.
After admiring the views as you approach the cottage, step into the porch and then through the stable door. Inside, you’ll find a welcoming lounge/diner, furnished with a pair of sofas that invite you to snuggle up and get comfortable with a book or to pick a movie to stream on the Smart TV. This room flows into the bright kitchen, which is equipped with everything you’ll need to whip up quick snacks or hearty meals. The shower room is on the ground floor, while the two bedrooms are upstairs, a king-size and a twin (the latter can be made up as a super-king-size on request). Both rooms have beamed, sloping (and in places low) ceilings. Head out into the garden, which is enclosed by a post and rail fence, to enjoy the fresh air and the stunning views that surround the property, perhaps taking a morning cuppa, a sundowner or supper to enjoy as the stars come out.
The scenery all around is extraordinary, and in the area you’ll find all sorts of possibilities for making the most of it. Rhayader, 6.5 miles away, is known as the outdoors capital of Wales, and on offer are all kinds of activities, from gentle walks and stargazing to pony trekking and kayaking. Rhayader is also the home of Welsh Royal Crystal and boasts a variety of shops and places to eat. Head into Builth Wells, 24.5 miles, and you’ll find a pretty riverside walk, more shops, pubs and restaurants, and an arts centre.
